Freddy's progress
Mar. 7th, 2011 02:13 pmFreddy spent the weekend in the spare room, being fed drugs at regular intervals and trying to chew off his bandage.
We went back to the vet for inspection today. The vet was mostly pleased at his progress, cleaned the wound and sent him home with more drugs (joy!) and a plastic funnel round his head. This he did not take to. He spent the next hour and a half wandering round the ground floor banging into things and looking piteous. Then I noticed that his chest was bleeding, and that he'd actually managed to reopen the wound. Rang vet and arranged to bring him back.
Plastic funnel removed, and wound cleaned up again, his chest is now tightly wrapped in a purple bandage. He looks very episcopal. The bandage is so secure that he can't actually walk completely freely - it's more like stumping, interspersed with little jumps. But he's a lot happier than with the funnel. He's dozing on the couch at the moment.
He'll have to be re-bandaged in a couple of days and then hopefully the stitches will come out on Saturday.
