Went for a run this morning.  Cold and foggy.  The damp gets the chill right into your bones somehow, and into your lungs.  The cars were iced up and the pavement slippery in patches.  Stringy spider webs sagging in the hedges.

Still, now I feel all warm and virtuous and deserving of porridge.

Eek! I've never run for 10km. I can do about 2.5 miles, which must be less than half. Also, I'm very slow. But I would like to try...let me think about it.

10km is about 6.25 miles, which sounds horrendous, but isn't if you take it in bits. If you can run 2.5 miles, you can run 3 miles. When you're running 3 miles, you can run 4 miles. When you're running 4 miles, you can go straight to 6 if you're feeling good. I am not exactly fast myself. I'm 52 and overweight. If I'm going REALLY WELL, my aim is to complete the Great Womens Run 10km in under an hour...
