Dirty stopouts
Jul. 4th, 2010 08:21 amMy cats have been staying out later and later in the evenings. Usually I shut the cat flap before I go to bed,and count them in the mornings. Last night none of them had come home before I went to bed, and only one of them was in this morning. This was Raffles, his fur clogged with seeds and sticky buds. He lay down in front of me in a "Brush me now!" posture. I brushed him. (Tries hard not to worry about the other two.)
[Update] Well, Izzy has now appeared, farouche and hungry. The fur of her stomach is coated in some sort of dark sticky substance, like insect-secreted candy floss, which she is reluctant for me to brush. I managed to partly groom her while she was eating, but she has now rushed off again about her avocations. KTHXBYE is I believe the expression.
[Further update] Much relief! Freddy has also reappeared, while I was at Sainsbury's. He too has strange whirls and tangles in his hair. He is now lying at my feet, purring.
