The mishaps of Freddy

Freddy has a hole in his chest.  It is perfectly round, as if he had been stabbed by a pencil.  I took him to the vet this afternoon and she said that probably he had leaped down from a height and impaled himself on a branch or twig.  Anyway, although he is not at all discommoded by his injury, he needs to go back on Wednesday for surgery.  It appears that there is something hard lodged under the skin, probably a remnant of the twig.

In the meantime, no going out, in case the fragment works its way in deeper and causes real damage.  Poor Freddy!
